Have you ever wanted to have a go at pottery? Local potters Andy and Rae are planning a free raku session for the Winter Lantern Festival!

Come along to RAM Ceramics on Yorkshire Street West on the 27th November to have a go at making your own pot, and watch it be glazed and fired in at the Winter Festival. Rae will be there between 11 and 4, ready to introduce you to the world of clay. Please allow yourself up to 2 hours to make your pot. Space in the studio is limited, so to avoid disappointment please book in advance to reserve your space (by 'purchasing' this free ticket or using the contact form), otherwise first come first served on the day.

If you don't make it on the 27th, feel free to join us to make some pots on the day, between 4 and 6.

We're asking for a voluntary donation of up to £10 to cover the materials cost, but this is completely optional. Any money raised will be donated back into local creative projects through Creative West End.

Making session 1: 11 - 4 (last arrival time 2pm), 27th Nov: 1 Devonshire Rd (on the corner of Yorkshire Street West), West End, Morecambe LA3 1QT

Firing session 1: 11 - 4, 4th Dec: Winter Lantern Festival.

I can't wait to see you there. Rae x

Winter Festival Raku

  • 1-5pm, 21st November 2021 (A sunday!)

Aimed at complete beginners, this class will introduce you to hand-built ceramics. Rae will demonstrate two of the oldest known techniques in pottery: "pinching" and "coiling". These techniques can be used anywhere, with no specialist equipment, and are perfect for creating really natural looking work with organic forms.

You will have plenty of time and support to allow you to make your very first bowls and vases using these techniques.  All materials and the firing of two of your pieces are included in the cost of the workshop.
