Clay at Holm
Lockdown sucks. But with this clay you can escape for a couple of hours and make: A mug, a bowl, a soap dish, a paint palette, a snake, a monster, a flower, a fish, a UFO, a robot…
Whatever you chose to make, clay is available for collection from Holm Cafe in Lancaster City Centre. Get in contact to order yours now
Here are some simple project ideas:
Roll out the clay to about 1 cm thickness. Cut a circle like it is cookie dough, and then decorate it with texture, and gently pull the sides up - the kids have just made their own plates!

Having said all this, I think the BEST resource to come out of lockdown is the free pottery beginners guide from Alex:
Please don't hesitate to get in touch with questions, for help, or for more clay! If you find yourself wanting to go all in and do a lot of pottery, you will save yourself a lot of money by joining a community studio, and/or by buying clay & glaze yourself. I'm always happy to hire my kiln out for you to fire your work in - so please get in contact and I can help.
