Clay at Holm

Lockdown sucks. But with this clay you can escape for a couple of hours and make: A mug, a bowl, a soap dish, a paint palette, a snake, a monster, a flower, a fish, a UFO, a robot…

Whatever you chose to make, clay is available for collection from Holm Cafe in Lancaster City Centre. Get in contact to order yours now

Project ideas

Here are some simple project ideas:

  • Roll out the clay to about 1 cm thickness. Cut a circle like it is cookie dough, and then decorate it with texture, and gently pull the sides up - the kids have just made their own plates!

Having said all this, I think the BEST resource to come out of lockdown is the free pottery beginners guide from Alex:

If you find yourself wanting to go all in and do a lot of pottery, you will save yourself a lot of money by joining a community studio, and/or by buying clay & glaze yourself. I'm always happy to hire my kiln out for you to fire your work in - so please get in contact let me know how I can help.
