These vessel-figures sit between human and animal, container and being. Their forms recall ancient jars and mummified cats: chosen to hold offerings, memories, or remains. Each head rises from its vessel, dignified, poised and alert, the seams and joins left visible.
The series began while I was thinking about reverence and sacrifice: how our society chooses what to preserve, and what we are willing to lose: Who influences those decisions, and who benefits.
The cats, at once watchful and still, hold that tension quietly. They might be guardians, witnesses, or offerings themselves. All I know is that, like us, they are The 99.
